Courses March–April 2026
We currently offer three different types of improv courses that will be running for 7 weeks in March and April 2026. They are held in-person in Reykjavík, Iceland (101 and 107 area).
We offer a FREE first session for anybody who has not taken part in an Improving Playfully course before. All you need to do is register!
Do you have a 2-2-3 shift? A trip planned right in the middle of the course? No worries!
If you miss any of the classes due to illness, travel or work schedules, you can make up for any missed sessions by visiting another group! Our venues are wheelchair-accessible – just please let us know in advance.
If you cannot make it to the try-out session, but still want to join, please contact teja@improving-playfully.com.

All of our workshops and courses focus on personal growth and team development. You already have creativity and confidence inside you, we’ll just give you the keys to access it fully. Even though we are exploring theatre techniques, there is no need to “perform”. Our goal is to improve and have fun while doing it.
BEGINNER
The perfect choice for anybody who has never done improv before!
Here, we work on our:
- communication skills,
- adaptability,
- self- and group-awareness,
- adaptability to change, and much more!
INTERMEDIATE
Curious about taking your improv skills to the next level? Then the intermediate class is the right pick for you!
Here, we will focus on building upon the foundations from the beginner’s class and learning more short-form exercises and games. Our teachers will adapt the course to the overall level of the group and its individuals.
Learn about:
- more improv exercises and games,
- embodying characters,
- achieving more flow individually and in a group,
- object work, space creation, and more!
PERFORMANCE
This is the course for those who are interested in performing on stage. It’s also suitable for those who are just curious about long-form improvisation. It might seem scary at first, but it’s also extremely rewarding!
We will:
- solidify our character creation and development,
- learn editing skills,
- develop stage presence,
- perform in our version of “the Hero’s journey”, a classic storytelling format.
The showcase date is Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 18:00.
